I took a break

My computer decided it was time to stop working. Instead of searching for a way to manage my blog I opted to take the week off. For a week I didn’t think much about this space. Instead I spent a lot of time reading. Like with an actual book. There’s a huge part of me that loves to buy books but not read them. I feel terrible about separating the pages and bending the spine. Instead I opt to buy digital books. That way I can’t damage what is perfect. But reading on a screen will never be like reading a physical book. It was quite enjoyable.

I also spent some time with inner reflection. I took inventory on what I want to improve with myself. Since I wasn’t at my desk this past week, did a lot of tidying up and imagining how our home can improve. We still need a bookshelf and there are a few more plants to water.

I also spent time watching TV which is pretty rare. A lot of it was mindless maarthoning with my favorite shows as I fiddled with my bullet journal. It’s going to be a daily journal sort of thing since I don’t have a lot of appointments to keep track of. It’s also a place where I can be physically creative. I have a new water color pallet and some new supplies on the way.

I also took the time to do yoga and it wasn’t rushed. What a miracle! I’ve been following the simple instructions of Adriene. She’s mindful of everything and I’ve done my best to get into that mindset when I spend my time with her. It’s been a fun experience so far!

There are tons of events outside of our control that can hinder progress. Instead of being stuck in a rut, there are always better ways to deal with it. This past week was a blessing in disguise. It’s been so long since I’ve taken a break from blogging. I did miss writing though and I’m thankful for my new computer! Now I need to take the time to reinstall everything I had before… Time for me to get to work!
