Don’t you love the smell of autumn? It’s no secret that I love Lush and their products. So when Sander and I found ourselves in Amsterdam for a few hours, I had to drop into the local Lush. It had been well over a year since I had last frolicked between the soaps and hand washes. What did I pick out in this Lush haul? A few lovely items perfect for the chiller weather. Sex Bomb We live in The Netherlands and that means we have a washroom, a single often tiny room for the toilet. And you know how toilet rooms can get at times, especially if they’re super tiny. It’s been months since I decided to invest in a Lush body spray as a bathroom spray… Let me tell you, I will never go back. Especially with Sex Bomb. It’s an exotic blend of jasmine, sage and ylang ylang oils. Imagine yourself on a spicy, floral journey into the unknown, that’s what this scent is all about. Honestly, if I didn’t use it for the bathroom, I’d use it on myself. Orange Blossom Before I left California I had one wish. I wanted to find a perfume that […]

Sex Bomb
We live in The Netherlands and that means we have a washroom, a single often tiny room for the toilet.

Orange Blossom
Before I left California I had one wish. I wanted to find a perfume that would remind me of home. Of springs spent in orange groves where the blossoms would fall like rain. It was a tall order though and I left without finding something. And here it is now. Orange blossom is that perfect delicate scent of those same orange groves I grew up with. It’s also got a woody flavor to it with rosewood and bergamot. It’s not strong but it lasts for ages. When I get a whiff of it, I’m right back in California. I’ve never been so happy about perfume! Well I do still love my Ectoplasm, but that’s also a citrus scent. I guess I just have a think for citrus?

Lord of Misrule
This was another scent that isn’t new to our house hold but it’s a limited edition one. Available only once a year, Lord of Misrule is another spicy trek into the unknown. It’s got black pepper and patchouli for that double attack of a scent so specific, you’d know it on first sniff. It’s something hard to describe with words, but trust me… Once you try it, you either love it or hate it. We love it so much we went for the biggest bottle this year.

Pumpkin Spice
And of course, no Lush haul would be complete without a bar of soap. Not included in this photo is also the bar of Pumpkin Spice I picked up. I wanted to keep it wrapped up and protected until I use it. And smells exactly as it is named. The cool think about it is it has pumpkin seeds baked in so you can use them to scrub your body and get rid of the tough grime from Trick or Treating! I can’t wait to open up this one but I’m still working on a Christmas Jelly from last year!

We went to Amsterdam recently and decided to pop into Lush for a few items. Now Lush is a an indulgence for us. We go once a season to stock up on limited edition items which we now have a surplus of. It’s not that we busy so much at once, it’s that the product lasts for a long time. We buy soaps and once once in a great while a bath product. I’ve got oily roots and even though I wash it every three days, I always feel like it gets oily way too quick. Especially when I use shampoo and conditioner combos, the residue is too much for me to handle. Big is made of sea salt and citrus juice so it’s a strong cleanser for my oily hair. I’ve used lemon juice in the past to clean and cleanse oil from my finger nails and it works like a charm. Big is no different. All I have to do is wash my hair with it and my natural curls work in harmony with the volume boosting formula. It never weighs down my hair and this is the third or fourth time I’ve repurchased. It’s hard to remember […]

It’s hard to remember since I end up using it for six to seven months at a time.

I’ve been dying to buy one of the Lush perfumes and I’ve finally decided on Dirty. It’s so hard to describe it in simple terms. It’s fresh, soft yet spicy, comforting and yet bold. I adore the scent of sandalwood as well, and was excited to see it in the product list. I sampled this scent and thought about it for two weeks before I took the plunge and I’ve been glad I did!

Since I saw that tea tree is good for blemish prone skin, I’ve invested in a few products but never this one by Lush. It also contains grapefruit and juniper water so the tea tree smell isn’t too strong. Not that I minded the scent before but this makes me feel more refreshed in the mornings and before bed. Also far so good, my skin is reacting well.

The next time we journey out to Lush will be in the fall for those delicious Halloween/autumn treats they stock. Sander was obsessed with Fireside so we ended up going back and getting more. I can’t wait to replenish our supply of Lord of Misrule, that’s our current favorite body wash and we’ve been using it since mid-October.
