My 2020 Plans

Oh my gosh you guys, it’s the end of a decade! I was 12 years old when 2000 rolled around and I can’t say I was prepared for the future. So much has changed since then! And not the normal life stepping stones. But I’m not here to ramble on about what I did for the last 20 years. I’d like to talk about what I’m looking forward to when the clock strikes midnight. I’ve got a lot of 2020 plans buzzing around in my head!

Be more involved
I spent a lot of time believing that I didn’t need friends or a support system. That was a huge mistake. I’ve been building up connections again and it’s been great fun. I’ve made new friends, grown closer to old ones and I can’t wait to make more friends this coming year. Building relationships take time and effort which is something I’ve never been fond of. But I’ve also never felt more loved in my life. I need to take the time to show others the love that they’ve shown me.

Spread the creativity around
I’ve decided to expand my hobbies to include a few other things. In 2018 I took up bullet journaling. This year I want to take another dive into painting. I enjoyed it in college and I’d like to get back into it. As with most things, I’m not very good at it but that won’t stop me! I have other goals as well. My 2020 plans started early in December and I would love to share them soon!

Sure I was able to read 52 books in a year but most of them were audiobooks. I want to get back into reading my books instead of having them read to me. I’ve got a shelf of books waiting for me to pick them up and I need to jump on that as soon as I can! I also have a few books that I was in the middle of reading. Now’s the best time to finish them!

Explore new paths
Of course each new year brings new challenges. I’ve been good this year at pushing my boundaries and I’d like to take that even further. I want to do my best and branch out to experience more things but I won’t push myself too hard though! It’s best to take things in stride and develop a love over time.

Enjoy the moment
2019 pretty much flew by for me. I was so busy that I forgot to stop and be bored for a while. I’d like to take longer walks with my dogs. It would be nice to take them to the park more often so they can run wild. Ideally I want to be more like my dogs in the New Year. There’s never a dull moment with them and they do everything with energetic joy. Where can I cash in on some of that?!

On a side note, I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe New Year’s. Hold your loved ones close and be thankful for another year with them. Cherish every moment like it may be your last and I’ll see you all in the New Year!
